Recent Acceptance

Well, I just got an email on Thursday afternoon of this week. It was from the editor of Whistling Shade magazine (www.whistlingshade.com). He was letting me know that they had accepted my fly fishing story "Identifying" for their next issue. They have a circulation of 2,500. Not too shabby.

They might also do a review of Into the Desperate Country, but that remains to be seen.

Saginaw Barnes and Noble Book Signing

On Saturday, October 7th I'll be doing a book signing at the Saginaw Barnes and Noble. I'll be signing along with a few other writers.

Deborah Doan, One Minute, One Hour, One Day
Andrienne Lewis, Coming Clean
Phil Rosette, The Freya Project
Oscar Deadwood, The Perfect Revolution

Each writer works out of a different genre, so there should be something for everyone. The signing starts at one o'clock and goes to three.

Another Literary Opportunity

A good friend of mine, Matt Bell, will be reading in Ann Arbor in November. His fiction is quite stunning and worth giving a listen -- or two. The reading will be held on Nov. 8 at the Shaman Drum Bookshop, starting at 7pm.

Updates and Welcome

Okay, Ken Meisel (he's got a new chapbook of poems) and I have some readings coming up. First, on Wednesday, September 13, Ken and I will be reading at the Java Junction in West Branch around 6:30 p.m. or so (maybe it's 7:00). If you have to know exactly, you can call the Java Junction. Hope to see you there.

Also, on Wednesday October 4, we'll be reading at the Sweet Boutique in downtown Bay City. The Sweet Boutique is now located on Washington, right across the street from Subway. We start reading around 6:30. Of course, bring money for books, but also bring money for chocolates and other goodies. The Sweet Boutique has great stuff!

On Saturday, October 7, I'll be involved in a book signing with other Michigan authors at the Barnes and Noble in Saginaw. It goes from 12:30 until 3:00.

If you're finding your way to my site via the article I wrote for True North magazine, welcome. My novel, Into the Desperate Country, can be ordered by sending a check for $17.00 (includes shipping) to:
